Importing a 50D from USA

Hi

I'm looking at upgrading to a 50D and having a quick look on ebay there seems to be some really good deals, my 400D was from Digital Rev on ebay and that went swimmingly.

However I'm just wondering if theres any problems with it being a US import should you have to send it back to Canon under warranty?

Ah yeah good point, forgot about that, have been stung before as well.

To be honest, at a second glance, 90% of the super exciting free gifts would just end up cluttering my place up!

There is no import duty on cameras, only lenses. There will be 15% VAT though.

+ the customs handling charge from whoever delivers it, sometimes approaching a tenner

You could always have a word with Kerso (Member here) as he can do a very reasonably rpiced 50D...
