HI Guys

I'm wanting to sell prints on my site/ blog but am confused about print sizes.

It seems that most photographers work with imperial measurements but most uk paper sizes are metric i.e. A4, A4 etc..

Should I list my prints as A4, A3 etc.. or imperial size?

Also what are the common sizes?

Cheers
John

If you are just selling the plain print ( no frame ) then you need to look at what size frames are available. Now a quick look at high street outlets show that most still list frame sizes in imperial, although some include the metric equivalent. It seems only places such as Ikea only give the metric size.

The most common sizes look to be 6x4, 5x7, 8x6, 8 x10 and A4

I'm not saying that my 10 minute research is definitive, but judging by the print sizes you get from print labs I would think it covers most sizes the average person is familiar with.

I am sure everyone will be happy with A sizes if this is what you sell. Otherwise UK and US would be probably imperial and EU in metric.

But to be honest, just do not overload it with too many options and focus on the quality of images and presentation. People will figure out what 18" or 40cm means if they want to :)
