Depends how much you value your time. I would add up the total time you would spend, including getting there and back, plus editing time, then multiply it by an hourly rate you consider your time to be worth.

indeed depends on what you see your time as.

Secondly the only one point I would make is that if you do charge over £100.... make sure they are good photos and good lenses.

Parties etc I have done are often in shocking light.

But charge enough that it makes it worth it.

I agree Hen Parties = Pubs clubs etc etc- bad lighting, therfore a very fast lens is required f1.4 - f1.8 or f2.8 at a push

I'd use a 24-70mm f2.8 - 70-200mm f2.8 and maybe an off camera flash

as for pricing I'd charge £120 also

Les

£120 and a caveat that you do the first two hours... ie before it gets messy :)

Indeed, the last party I did was for the 30th of one of the Directors of a company I did some building shots for.... all was well for the first hour.... I left for 5 minutes to get some more stuff out my car and when I came back in they were trollied and along with this came some rather drunken ladies trying to grab my camera saying they can take good photos so be prepared for the worst and certainly make sure your gear is fully insured as parties can get wild.

the problem is that if you are to charge £300 then the photos have to be totally mint, anything short and you will be slaughtered.

However I can see why you charge that much, excellent images. :)

Obviously. Same at any price, the end product has to offer value to the client. If you provide a load of rubbish, you can't say, "what do you expect? I only charged you 120 quid".
