Hi Folks

Am hoping that someone will be able to help solve a problem I have with images appearing different in different programs.

My workflow is zoombrowser to view, DPP for RAW conversion and photoshop 7 for image editing and until recently images looked the same no matter what program they were viewed in.

I have in the last couple of weeks upgraded to a Dell ultrasharp 2209 monitor which is great and installed no problem and everything was hunky-dory. Then a couple of days ago I went to edit a photo I had just taken in photoshop and it looked awful, very contrasty blotchy grey midtones not sharp, obviously something was very wrong. I reopened the image in zoombrowser and it was as it should be, tried DPP and it was fine there to.

I began messing about in colour settings in photoshop and found that using different colour spaces gave different results but none the same as my other programs and with none of them was the image as sharp as in the other programs...

However I had the eye-one display 2 on order so I hoped that would sort any probs. I was wrong. My Screen is now calibrated and images in zoombrowser and DPP look very close to my prints from a pro commercial lab (which was the whole idea).

Images in photoshop however now have too much midtone and lack contrast and sharpness.
Just out of curiosity i tried viewing and image in windows picture viewer and it is the same as photoshop aggggghhhhh...

This is very frustrating as I now have a calibrated monitor but have to guess my edits in photoshop and then view in zoombrowser to see what result I will get!

My colour settings in PS are
Workspace
RGB: sRGB
using the profile generated by the calibration software looks identical to sRGB
Gamma 2.2

Any help and suggestions very welcome

Thanks
Alastair
