I'm in the process of moving to a Windows 11 laptop. My current one is about 7 years old, and the cameras I use of even greater vintage.

When I try to download from the Canon site I'm informed that the software isn't available for any of my cameras. They are a EOS5DII, 450D and a 77D(which isn't even listed). Is there any way to get the software, or any suggestions for alternatives?

Any assistance will be gratefully received.

Have a look at Faststone Image Viewer. It's quite well-featured for a free, lightweight app, especially if you take the time to set it up through its 'settings' menu, and learn its keyboard shortcuts.

There again, if you want to process RAW files, there are some free, open source apps that'll do that too. Darktable & Rawtherapee being examples.

But if you've got money to burn, the field is open ...

@droj Definitely no money to burn :-) Thanks for the suggestion. I'll look at Faststone Image Viewer and the others. Canon DPP is still available so RAW images aren't a problem.

I believe Irfanview is still a thing too, free and able to process files from all different cameras.

Another solution is Adobe converter to change from Canon's RAW format to the universal DNG, which should hopefully sidestep the issue of compatibility. Works with NX Studio as that would allow the Nikon software to open up RAW files (DNG) from my Pentax with no issues (not keen on Pentax's software, which reminds me....).
