Can some kind person tell me why i cant seem to get an image lower than 200kb, even when i set my resizing software to create an image with 600px max along longest length at 72 dpi. I wish to post larger images, but when i resize and get it lower than the max allowed size the images posted are too small. I use MIR .NET,( multipal image resizer) which is a good bit of kit.:shrug:

Yeah actual pixel dimensions doesnt make much of a size difference compared to the level of Jpeg compression.
In Photoshop, when you save-as>jpeg you should get a dialogue box with a slider that goes up to 12. Level 10 should be enough, i have 800x540's at under 100k at that setting.
If you dont use photoshop, id imagine it would be a similar process.
