Hi

I do not have any editing SW other what came with the Canon 350D, and looking at the ebay site, there seem to be a vast array of SW available.

Can anyone give me some advise on what SW I should be looking at please
I am running XP on the laptop

Hi Ian

A lot depends on your budget and what you want to do.

The industry standard/best for professionals is Photoshop CS 5 and if you get this you probably will never use even half of it but it will do just about everything you need as you become more proficient.

Photoshop Elements is a cut down version and one that many people use

You could also take a look at the first post in this section of the forum which gives details of many editing programmes :)

Be wary of buying software off ebay, some is dodgy, or may have been registered already to someone else.
Gimp is free, Elements will do pretty much any beginner will need and even a lot of advanced togs never need anything else.
Even easier is a free online editor http://pixlr.com/editor/ This is similar to an older version photoshop but online.

I have just down loaded Gimp and will also have a play with this on line sw,
its only for home use so i will see how i get on
