Hi - Just back into some processing after some time away. I have iLife 09 and Photoshop Elements 8 and trying to find the best way of setting a workflow up.

iLife 09 is easy and quick, I like to use GPS tagging and that just works. I don't particularly like the cataloguing and events. I prefer editing with PSE and would rather use Bridge (I suspect I am one of the few).

I *think* that I need to have different stores for the iLife and PSE files so the initial import into iLife for the tagging then external editing with PSE is not really working out for me.

I guess I just need to make a decision and get on with it, but interested if there is anyone else with similar issues? Just to add a bit more into the mix, I like to use View NX 2 to check focus points (but little else).

Anyone?

Chris

I don't bother with iPhoto. Bridge is a great DAM application.

Actually I ending up with an Aperture 3 trial and have purchased it. It works pretty well and seems to do everything I have needed so far without having to keep swapping between applications. Good price also in the Mac App Store.

I do all my editing on a an iMac, 27 inch LED calibrated with colour munki. Lightroom for ingesting cards, key wording files and management. Sort the keepers and basic colour correction/and image editing. Images are finished in PhotoShop and exported as jpgs for print and web. Finished files are added to the job folder in lightroom for easy access and to make slideshows etc.

It's a really nice set up and I made the move back to mac a short time ago, was concerned about colour management because I had read some people had problems with calibrating the monitor. The glossy screen was also a concern, but its not a problem for me at all and it is the nicest set up I've owned.
