...have been for a good few weeks, but I keep thinking of reasons not to. The main one being some days I cant see how I will have time to seek out a shot.

As there are a few people doing it on here now, how do you find it? Pitfalls? Benefits? I dont want to start the thing then just stop or have to give it up cos I dont have time. I work full time, have a youngish family, and photography has to come after these (I know, blasphemy!).

Lots of benefits, few negatives. The biggest you already know, time constraints, and sometimes, inspiration.

Was hoping for a little more insight ;)

Does the fact I am 'thinking' rather than 'doing' mean that it's probably not right for me. To explain myself a little... I am sat at work doing boring *****. Hence, I 'think about taking' pics... lol. Doing a 365 won't suddenly mean I am not sat at work, but it might give my thoughts direction. Then again, It might not. I seem to have lots of time to think, but little time to actually 'do'.

Personally, another 365 is going to spread peoples time too thin. I am not against them at all, but its hard keeping up with them all.

If you have any doubts, then dont bother. Do it for yourself by all means, but dont start one if you're not 100% committed, otherwise when you miss a day, you'll feel as through you've let yourself down.

Just my 2p :)

Well to me it forces you to look around you, keep your eye trained, and in the case of my 365 being based on how I feel, it forces me to look at myself and those around me.

It has helped alot! Honestly.

Gary.

Maybe Admin could start a subforum for 365's... I get lost trying to find them all! I know Gary started a thread which proved really helpful???

I think a lot of people, myself included might want to try this! I think seeing who is doing one and how they are finding it would be far easier than trawling around...

Me

ps - who started the 365 thing here!?

Snowball, I think it was either Marcel or Jimmy Lemon that started this craze :D

Jimmy_Lemon started his at 01-01-2008 :) Don't know who actually brought the idea in though

Ok, just take the pee you lot :p

I'd considered a 52, and 'the alphabet' and 'the dictionary'. Then a couple of other people started doing these didnt they? The thing that grabs me about the 365 is that you are pretty much 'forced' to do something every day. And with that pressure, I hope that I'll learn and improve. The other thing for me is that as a newbie, I like the feedback and comments people give on here. It's a great help, either critically to improve, or favourably as a pat on the back. And I sort of have the urge to post almost everything so that I can get opinions. A 365 would at least mean all my sh!te is in one place so you can either avoid or look, as you prefer. :D

I like the idea of the 365's all being in one place.

I started my A-Z as I didn't think I'd be capable of keeping up a 365 (I'm still planning on doing 1 shot a day though), if I keep this one going I'm going to consider doing a 365.

The point of a 365 is to post one picture a day in that thread and write something about it or you. What i do if i have been out and taken photos i want to put up, I'll put one up as my 365 and the others in another thread. Does this make sense? :)

Tony

I've thought about a 365 too next year perhaps ... serious commitment I think.... I thought I might test myself and see if I can manage just 7 days first :D... using the days of the week... Eg, Sunday the day of rest ...Monday blues ...etc.

I concur, tis getting a bit ott and they do seem to dominate ...
