I'm looking for a mannequin, but which one to get and what background to use behind?!

Hello,

I'm looking to purchase a mannequin this week and I need to get some tips on what to go for.

I'm torn between:

a) Black

b) White

and

a) Gloss

b) Matt

I'd like to know what benefits or problems that I'd get from the above.

This is the selection of mannequins that I have to choose from.

Hi, without knowing exactly what you are going to do with your mannequin it would be impossible to advise on colour or background. I would go for matt though as there will be less problems with reflections

Thanks for the initial advice.

I will be using the mannequin to photograph mens clothing, footwear and accessories.

The items that I will be photographing will have a wide variety of colours.

I will be using these photos for both eBay sales and my up and coming website, so a professional look is a must.

If you're going for the Floral background I'd err towards the matte white

White background, possibly the matte black, but depends on whether the darker colour would show through on white shirts/etc.

Black background, I wouldn't personally go for unless you were advertising white shirts and the like, more formal offerings in lighter colours. (but if you did then the matte white would probably suit best)

I'm pretty much definatly going to get a white mannequin and most probably the gloss finish.

Still not sure on what background to go for...
