I'm gutted to say the least...

Went to log into my Yahoo instant messenger last night, only to find the password wouldn't work. So I then (after a few attempts) went to change it thinking 'No problem I can answer the security questions and have done with it' ... WRONG. It seems some ****er has hacked my Yahoo messenger (I presume that's where it started :shrug:) changed my password and also my security questions :'( :'(

This means I can't access my YIM, Flickr (:'( :'( I've lost everything on there as I recently made a lot of pics private, and don't have backups on my computer of the older stuff) or anything else linked to the bloody thing.

I swear if I find out who did it I'll kill them! Yahoo won't help because they say without the correct security questions being answered there is no way of proving it's me... I call b******t on that, so I'm going to keep on at them and hope they give me a new password. But I doubt it.

So if any of you added me on Flickr my new account is... HERE I've still got a lot of redoing to do, but there you have it.

What a nightmare :'(

Really sorry to hear that Jo, especially about pics you have lost. Keep on at Yahoo, they should have some kind of database back up that will confirm your original password and security questions, though it will take some effort to get them to find them and check what you say is true. Give em hell girl!
 
can they tell you when the password and username were last changed ? they shouldnt have to breach anything to tell you that, at least you will know when it happened.

Well it must have happened in the space of 2 hours last night as I had logged on just a little while earlier. They have just emailed me asking me to answer my secret question, so I've tried... we will see. I hope the ****ers didn't change that, then maybe I can get it back.

Yeah I now Marcel! I got the email saying you had added me, thats when I ried to log into Flickr and discovered I couldn't as well as my messenger.

Hackers aren't the bad guys. Crackers are. Hackers just get stereotyped this way because of the phrasing, media, films etc. Have you spoke to Yahoo? Surely they would have something relating to this. Logged IP's etc.

well Marcel is at the top of my list of suspects :naughty: I wouldn't trust him as far as I could throw.......

Bad luck on this. You must keep on at Yahoo. They have a responsibility to protect their client's accounts. Personally, I've never been happy with Yahoo and have avoided them and anything tainted by them in recent years after having had a mare of a time unsubscribing from one of their email forums.

I'm still waiting for them to reply to my answer... I just keep going back and reading the bit where it says that if you can't answer the security questions correctly then you can't get a new password :( and they have obviously changed those. I'm just hoping that answering their secret question is enough :shrug:

I keep thinking of all of the pictures I will have lost of my Dog that died 18 months ago :( :(
 
It took 11 days and a lot of begging, but I finally got my account back! :clap:

Yahoo are good souls really ;)
