Dear TP

Recently i have become obsessed with getting it right in camera, my other friends didn't even know about my secret love affair with the easy going Mistress RAW, it all started one day when i fudged the lighting on a shot and Mistress RAW allowed me to tweak her levels and nibble away at her other bountiful gifts, before i knew it Mistress RAW had teamed up with the sleazy Madame Lightroom 2 who would always make me nudge her sliders one more increment and the three of us would spend hours exploring each other and positively revelling in the results of our ménage a trios.

Lately though i have become guilt ridden as i found myself ignoring my wife more and more in my quest for the perfect union of photography and post processing.

Aunty TP, i think i started to come to my senses once i found out about custom white balance and immediately i had more time to practice all the devilish tweaking and sliding on my wife instead of with my former harem.
My main concern is that this may make me seem weird to my fellow forum mates, and i welcome your advice.

It sounds to me like you've convinced yourself to give a doomed relationship one last chance. In comparison to the possibilities on offer from your new lovers why would you choose a more limited, restrictive relationship which will only curtail your creativity and exploration of new ideas?

Dear Aunty TP
Thanks for your speedy response, i think my main insecurity come from the way the girls manipulate my comfort zone:

do i need to sharpen the eyes?
do i have to add a touch of contrast to keep the contrast junkies happy?
should i boost the saturation every time the British sky does it's grey thing?

I realise there are going to instances when i will fall by the wayside and enrich the original girls with my presence from time to time, i'm just not convinced it needs to be every time.
To test this theory i have been two timing Mistress Raw with the bubbly playmate that is Jenny Jpeg, yes she's shallow and little bit of a lightweight in file density, but Jenny has her attractions, i tend to prefer her initial wanton display in Madame Lightroom's boudoir and together they can put on quite a show.

Jenny Jpeg is a hussy with quick affairs behind the bike sheds...you'll never know if it was your baby though.
Mistress Raw will satisfy your creative heart once you get to grips with her. Aiding you in nurturing your young into what ever you want.

Sounds like you need to put all your mistesses away for a while pull out your little compact and just shoot away all by yourself. Things will still work out and while your shooting away all by yourself you can even think of all those good times you had with mistress raw and madam lightroom but now your doing this all by yourself, pleaseing yourself if you like and not relying on others to do it.

It may be HARD at first but things will soon get soorer i mean better

You may put Raw out of your mind for now but she is infectious and you will be back for another bite of her sweet "RAW" bounty lol " )
 
It's going to be hard to wean yourself off the RAW appetite. I wish you the best of luck.
