after years of hiding my images on a HDD with the occasional print run through DSCL, I've finally slashed out on a decent photo printer.

Epson SC-P600 arriving today :)

Will be running it with Marrutt inks as well.

Ah, very interesting .. this is the exact printer I've had my eye on for a while (see post I just posted) ..... Very interested to hear your thoughts. Perhaps an SC-P600 Owners thread is needed ?

Very nice. Only done a few A4 prints so far but very happy with them. Just using Epson supplied ICC profiles from Lightroom, I'm getting prints very close to what's on I see on screen.
I've also got my Marrutt inks ready and will get some Marrutt paper once I've switched inks.

The wifi is crap. I have a netgear nighthawk router which has brilliant wifi range but the printer looses signal if placed just behind a door even though it's only 4m from the router. All my other devices get full signal anywhere in the house and in the garden.

The wifi Setup procedure is also rubbish, it kept failing, saying something about incompatible channels until in the end I just set it up manually. Couldn't find anything anywhere as to what channels the printer works with, but setting the printer up manually it worked fine anyway, so I put that down to crap software. In the end I've opted for a USB cable anyway as I don't trust its wifi ability and don't want to loose signal half way through a print.

We had a customer thought the nighthawk would be the answer to their poor wifi - shocking bit of kit, no end of issues with it.
I must admit for a printer I'd directly connect over ethernet

I have an older Epson printer (R2000) and the WiFi on that is pants too, seems that hasn't changed much. I normally connect through Ethernet and have no probs. It does produce wonderful prints, and I suspect the newer P600 will be no different. Enjoy :)

No problems with mine. Solid as a rock, excellent wifi range.
Yeah, supposed to be a good bit of kit but this customer had real issues with theirs. Always said wifi signal was strong but never delivered consistently, connections dropping.
No issues after other equipment was used.
