There are so many lenses available in all sorts of sizes and types, plus most people on here seem to have quite a few different ones but IF you could only have the one which would you choose?

Purely out of interest as I seem to have 3 already, and I have not even got the camera out of the box yet!!

For me it would have to be my 100-400, almost always on my camera as most of my photos are of animals.

Second would be 24-105 (which is matts) like this for the weddings we have done, and taking pictures of the nephews.

Split between the 100-400 and the 10-20.

The 28-105 is okay but isn't great in low light levels, would like an L lens to replace this at some point.

My lovely Sigma 150mm f2.8. Would allow me to do macros, portraits and wildlife, but it would limit landscapes somewhat. Maybe a shorter 1:1 macro lens would be better as I could at least stitch shots together to give me a wider fov. So im going to say Nikon 60mm f2.8 macro even though ive never used it.

A close one really ... I guess my 70-200VR 2.8 is always on the body so that one...

A close second would be the 17-55 2.8 though.

24-70mm EF L

Stunning lens with stunning IQ

Was after it for a while and when I finally got it, I was not disappointed

I would go for my Sigma 24-70 ex dg f2.8 Macro as it ok for landscape good for portraits and excellent as an all rounder :)

Well I'm in love with my 135L but if I were being sensible I'd probably have to go with the 50mm f/1.4 instead.

It would be my EF 35-350L....good for everything and perfect for nothing.

My new 70-300mm IS. Just got it, and it's great.

Olympus Zuiko Digital 12-60mm SWD 2.4-4.0

Excellent sharp lens, with a VERY useful range (Equiv 24-120mm), instant silent focusing thanks due to the SWD.

Dan, you're the man :)

For me it has to be the 24-105mm f/4L IS USM. It is far superior to anything else I have.

No, wait. It's my only lens. :'( But that could change very soon :D

tough Question, i use my ultra wide more than anything but that's due to lack of decent wide zoom so i'd probably choose a 24-70L

It would have to be the 24-105, but it would be difficult to live without my others

 Hmmm, If I could only have one, it would have to be something with a good 'walkabout' range, but still sharp, so probably a lens I dont actually own at the moment, a Nikon 18-200 F3.5 VR - but if it was from my current kit, then it would still be the original kit lens, 18-70, which I still use more than anything else.

70-200 IS USM f'sure
and I'd sneak the 2x TC past the lens police as well :D

24-105 f4 L - but when they bring out the new f2.8 version, that WILL be the one to have:canon:

Out of the one's I have it would be the Canon 300mm IS 2.8L.

24 1.4

Tricky one this.

I love my 100-400, but I hardly use it, I use my 17-40 F4.0 most of the time, but if you were going to take all my lenses away apart from one then I would keep the 85mm F1.2 L

Can't go to concerts without it :)

Wow, thats a load of answers! very interesting to read, I loved the 10 - 600 one

Interesting that the same ones seem to turn up across the camera makes though.
