I'm brand new to photography and want a few places where I can go to practice, but I don't want to waste my time somewhere with limited photo opportunities.
Firstly i think you may need to decide what you want to shoot. Manchester is full of opportunities, People, Buildings etc. A walk on a nice day with a open eye can reveal all sorts of possibilities.
I think I'd like to start taking pictures of buildings first. They don't move so it should be easier to work out how my camera fiddling is affecting the shot!
Mind you I've been stopped by security there before but I've shown them the shots I've been taking and they have been fine. It's a bit annoying when others are walking past clicking away on compacts and mobiles and I'm stood there with a guy on the radio. Grrrrr.
The Lowry is excellent as is the wheel and urbis. Weather forecast is not too good for the weekend though.
But erm... yeah Salford Keys can be fun, especially at sunset. Christmas Market (which I am guessing ends soon) is also good, but mainly for people shots. Trying to think where else I have been.
Id reccomend Salford Quays, but give the traffy a miss. If you fancy a meet in town sometime, id be happy to have some company, dont fancy going alone!
