weekly Ian's 52 2016 - Week Flora

Very nice Ian - its definitely old, and metal :D

Nicely captured and love the colours, only crit is the hedge on the right hand side which draws the eye away :)

Thanks. Yes the hedge is distracting. I have cloned out the one on the left.. Took so long I didn't want to start the one on the right.

Two birds with one stone! I like this, the vivid colour against a dark background makes a very eye catching photo.

I look forward to seeing the rest of your 26.

I really like that Ian.
It's already been commented on that the hedge at the bottom is a little distracting, rather than cloning it out, how about applying a graduated B&W tint to reduce the lightness.
I think it would be a real shame to lose the green of the trees in the background.

Cracking lighting on that Ian

You could be right. I may give it a go.

Ian hi, like your bridge shot, super colour, good luck completing your 52

Hi Ian. What an amazing bridge and so unusually lit ... in terms of colour. Enough metal there to satisfy the theme ... I think ha ha. Well taken

I know it well. This is a very nicely shot image of it. I can't help but mention the verticals, I think it needs a slight CW rotation...sorry!

B. :cow:

Love the blue lighting, never seen it like that before. Wasn't this the world's first iron bridge, you don't get iron bridges older than that. ;)

It was indeed the first. They occasionally light up the bridge for odd occasions was lucky enough to be around that day.

Hi Ian. Aw another beautiful model - nice DoF. Definitely fits the theme. Well done.

Nice DoF and fits the theme certainly. Just a shame that the eyes are behind the bars for me and would have made a big difference seeing them in full or looking straight on.

Metal - love the colours

Captive - so cute lovely picture shame about the bar.

Hi, On theme, eyes have been mentioned and it looks a little OOF.

Lovely cat, though.

Cheers.

Yes Andy it is a bit OOF. Given she didn't want to be in their, and she had just had her injections, I cannot blame her. Took a lot of post processing to resharpen what I could of it.

Old/Metal: Great shot love the lighting I assume it's lit up at night (never been despite it not being to far from me:rolleyes:)

Captive: Really like this the sad look on Elfie adds real emotion to the image

Nicely done Ian with that focus on the front plug and DoF taking the edge off the rearmost.

Close enough for me, Ian! A nice, simple, on topic shot. Good lighting and sharp where you'd want it to be. DoF is spot on too.

Hi Ian

Sorry, first visit to your thread so a quick round up from me

Old/Metal - Look at you consolidating themes already

I really like the colour of the bridge, the composition, lightly lit foliage and Dark sky work nicely :)

Captive - I'm in the 'shame the eyes are hidden' crew, but still a real nice subject choice for the theme :)

Miniature - Like this one, the composition, unfussy background, nicely lit and good DoF

A good start to your challenge !!

Thank you

Miniature - micro is very miniature definitely fits theme simple shot well done

Well, it would have sort of worked as an antonym. USB and Micro USB so whats missing? (the mini) but I think you would have had to have both ends in focus to sell us that idea!

perfect for the theme and well taken and like your thought process
