Hi All,

I was wondering if someone might be able to shed some light on something for me.

I have just been given a Hoya HMC 100-300mm Zoom & Macro lens by a mate of mine who was clearing out his attic. I am told that this lens is for a Canon 35mm film mount. I am Canon or film user, so I am not sure of this lenses ability, other than the spec's detailed on the camera.

What has sparked my interest in it, is that now I have this lenses, maybe I could pick up a old 35mm film camera for not to much £ and I could experiment with film photography as well as my usual digital.

My problem is that I have never looked into film, let alone old film lenses and camera. I can't seem to find any history on Hoya Lenses either. But, I am trying to find an appropriate film camera and noticed that on the camera mount end of the lenses there is a C/FD stamp, this I assume is the fitting. Am I correct in this and can anyone advise a good camera body I could look out for?

Thanks
Matt

It will fit an FD body, there're many different ones out there though - depends your price ceiling I guess (and how lucky you are at getting a bargain!)
