 don't we all?!

My kit is listed in my sig and I'm looking for something a bit longer than 300mm for shooting wildlife and maybe a bit of motor sport.

When I first got my 70-300 VR I had thought of getting a TC for it but as I read around I realised this wouldn't be an option :shake:

So what do I do? The Sigma 100-300 f4 seems an attractive price and seems to get decent reviews and I could slap a 1.4 or maybe 1.6 TC on it and get upwards of 400mm.

Should I look at anything else? I don't have bucket loads to spend.

While I'm at it, should I sell the 70-300 VR to fund the upgrade?

... just when I thought I had a nice FL covered :bonk: :bang:

Cheers all

Don't Nikon make a 80-400 VR? That might be a nice option.

Very nice but at a shy under £800 from One-stop its a bit beyond me at the moment!

Heard quiet a few bad reviews about it, the sigma 100-300 is supposed to be a good lens :)

Hey Grant, the D50 is going great - I just have to figure out how to use it!!

I'd be interested in a 70-300mm VR, I'm used to a 10x zoom on a Fuji......

I take it you can get a tc to fit it though....

Glad you're enjoying it mate. Looking forward to seeing some of your shots.

I'll be sure to let you know if I decide to sell. I've read mixed reports about using it with a TC - some say yes, some say no. Instinct tells me that at f5.6 at 300mm then adding a TC isn't really going to work. I would imgaine that IQ would suffer quite a bit too, and I guess I could kiss goodbye to VR too.

I could see myself keeping it though as I find I use it quite a bit. That and a Sigma 100-300 f4 with a x1.4 TC would do me nicely.
