I want a challenge!

Now Im new to photography, slowly getting used to my D3000, Now I want a challenge, not to hard, not to easy

So if anyone can come out with anything productive, then send it my way

in what field of photography? sun sets? landscape, experimental, macro, artistic? etc

Why don't you join in on the TP competitions? That will challenge you each and every month.

Or if you want a varied personal challenge you could join in with the themed 52 :shrug:
(OK it'll be more like a 42 at this stage, but nobody will hold that against you)

Yeah, come join the 52, it's never too late and if you intent on doing a full 52, you can always carry on with the first few of next years, or play catch-up

another idea I literally just had ....
Go onto Flickr/Google and find your favourite picture taken within say 5 miles of your house, then make it your objective to take a better one of the same subject, whether its re-creating the same pic with improvements, or just finding a new & more interesting take on it.
Then pick another subject or area nearby and repeat the process.

There is a challenge that will keep you going for a lifetime. Just any bird will do to start with, but soon you'll want a better shot...

You'll be wanting an interesting bird.

Filling the frame.

In perfect focus.

Without motion blur,

Doing something interesting (catching prey is usually good)

In beautiful lighting.

Here, for instance is my best gull. This was mostly down to hanging around a smelly outfall pipe at the beach at dawn and dusk, taking hundreds and hundreds of pictures, till I got lucky.

OK - A 52 is a photo a week for a year.
Obviously you can do your own personal challenge, but there's quite a big group of us working to a themed 52.

There are some instructions in this thread

But basically, Simon will post a theme every week in the "Competitions, Challenges and Inspiration" part of the forum.
We're on week 11 now and the theme is candid.
Just start your own thread in "Projects, Personal Challenges & Themes" and post your shot every week.

Simple as that.

And don't worry about starting late, nobody will make you catch up on weeks 1-10 unless you really want to.
