Why should one particular web site react differently depending on which computer/device I use?

The modem/router is the same. The ISP is the same.

On just one computer I see:

"The site is currently down for maintenance
Service will be resumed shortly
We apologise for the inconvenience"

and my intended target sub page I get

Not Found
The requested URL /travelex was not found on this server.

And yet on all other computers and devices in the house the site behaves perfectly.

Any ideas? Running Mavericks and ios7 as appropriate. The issues are on a Mavericks machine.

Thanks

2nd DNS on the modem/router was different to iMac settings. Changed it - no different.

Changed both DNS servers to google public. No change.

I first noticed this about four days ago. So we've had reboots in between times.

I've also removed cookies relating to this site.

What does

ping <sitename>

say on a machine that works and one that doesn't.

You may also have to clear the DNS cache before it will be seen correctly.

Just tried - and it works!!

Earlier today I downloaded and ran the latest, Mavericks compatible, ccleaner. I suspect, as you suggest, it was the DNS cache.

Now sorted. Mystery solved.
