I think I want one of these: new instant-film TLR

I tried to click off this thread quick but it was too late. What has been seen cannot be unseen. Want.

WHS... oh no not another one on the list..... :$

I don't get it. I thought the point of instant/Instax film was to capture spur of the moment pictures and this camera looks to be designed to slow things down. Also the vignetting at f/16 is enough to make the image almost circular (seen here) and the results in general look like someone's thrown a bucket of Instagram filters at them. I hope that it acts as a gateway drug to Yashica Mat, Rolleicord/flex and the like but I won't be joining the waiting list.

wow very cool.

I've seen the Mint SX-70 before which appears to be well made so it's good to see someone coming out with a new film camera and it will be well made. Whilst it adds a lot of features over a traditional TLR like exposure comp on a dial and a built in flash I think I'm with Strappy in that the results don't match the quality of the build or the price. I realise instant film is the whole reason Instagram looks like it does but I think I'd prefer a Fuji Neo Classic 90 for an instant fix and a 120 TLR alongside it.

I still list after one of those too but I decide recently when I nearly bought one, that I could buy a lot of impossible film and use my Polaroid instead for the money.

I don't think I'd be judging the quality of the results based on photos of photos. As it is, this particular camera offers far more control than any other instax mini camera that I'm aware of. I own a Fuji Neo Classic 90 and it's nice, but it doesn't offer any control over aperture or focusing, which would be very welcome at times.

If I were going to buy one though, I'd probably wait until I saw a few reviews just to make sure that the quality is there.

Now if only there was one that took Impossible Project film. Gotta have that 1:1 ratio. And apparently the Gen 2.0 B&W stuff is really good.

I just saw a picture of this on FaceBook but I thought it was an old camera. It's a pleasant surprise to see that it's a current item.

Steve.
