I got scammed for £260 yesterday and although im sure I will get my money back ive bought something else. The guy as 100% feedback with a count of 107 but I dont know if I should just pay for the item or make contact.

I don't quite get the question, how do you know you've been scammed if you haven't made contact?!

Why did you use Ebay again if you were that worried about using it?

A genuine ebayer won't mind the contact. Explain what just happened and tell them your concerns!

so

1) how did you get scammed?

2) why would a totally different transaction with i presume a different seller make you worried?

i had my ebay hacked before and someone in america was selling dvd's through myaccount, thing was i was on holidey when he done it so he had to to actually sell the goods under my name , he sold over £400 worth of dvds, i had my password reset through ebay, loged in to the account and i had numerous emails asking where they dvds are!, i replyed to them and explained the situation, ebay was very good and handled it all for me and removed my £70 ebay charges and delt with the people concerned,

this alos happened to my sister and my wife,

ebay are very good at sorting problems out so i wouldnt worry too much, but do contact the seller,

i hope you get thiings sorted

1. Won the item, paid with paypal, seller then tells me he isnt allowed to sell it, I ask for my money to be refunded. No reply, finally he says I can get my money back through the dispute system.

2. Same type of item, no other reason.

He replied and gave me his number and said he totally understands, oh well hope this time it works out!

I hope with the first one you read what I said on your other thread...don't do that again!

What exactly has happened with this second auction? You've won the auction but haven't sent payment yet?

Does he not have to go via the dispute system to prevent him from having to pay his % to ebay?

Yes if he goes through the case system he doesn't pay eBay fee's for the item, but he can refund the money anyway - As the seller he has options for 'no longer have item' etc so he could raise a case himself, but telling the buyer to use the case system sound a little dodgy to me! & pretty sure it will but a strike against his eBay account for taking money and not posting item?

I have used the case system twice this week as a seller. it can be a pain unless the buyer/seller are good ebayers.

I am kind of in the same mind of the OP about eBay, just going down bank fast.
