I have managed to do a really stupid thing and lose my head plate for my tripod, it's a Miranda and I was wondering if anyone could possibly point me to where would sell replacement parts, I've checked ebay, to no avail (that i can see) and amazon are no-go, HELP!!!

im pritty sure that if you contact jessops you can get a replacement, i dont think it has to be miranda specific

Depending on what sort and value of the tripod, I can see you having to weigh up the cost of a replacement head either new or used, against another tripod, again new or used.

You will certainly need to know the model number of the miranda tripod.
Put that into google and you should find a dealer that sells it.
Then ask if they carry spares?

I mis-laid the quick release for my manfrotto tripod! Called warehouse express and they were fab! Give them a description and make/model no and they will sort you out, mine was less than a tenner to replace.

www.warehouseexpress.com

Now found the original so I have a spare for when I do it again! :bonk:

my grandad is going to make me a wooden one for now, so i dont have to spend any moneys, cos guaranteed i will buy a new one and find the old one! x

Poppy dont use a heavy lens with a wooden one cos it will break no matter which way the grain

I have no heavy lenses as of yet, but by the time I do, I will have found my plate!

**Hopes and Wishes**

thanks, will check them out tomorrow, a friend is also taking my tripod head to Swansea with her Friday to see if they got one that fits, because Knowing me I will lose it again, so I'll keep one in the bag all the time!

You HAVE checked the bottom of your camera haven't you :naughty:

I've got a Miranda tripod somewhere....let me know if you're still stuck and I'll see whether the plate is the same.

Hi Poppy,
Once upon a time Miranda were a known camera brand, along with Topcon and others, but Dixons bought the brand name(s) to use on own brand products such as your tripod.
If anyone can supply a new QR plate it would be Dixons (or whatever they are called these days). I believe they have a mail order service for spares but I’m afraid you will be out of luck with this one as I think it’s older than a chain store would carry parts for. Sorry.

Right, here we go...

i'm gonna see if he has any lol!
