Either due to old age creeping in early, or the medication i am on due to a recent illness, i find myself stumbling at times trying to interpret the lcd shutter display, seconds are not a problem its the fractions for eg 1/400, 1/1600 1/4000 and 1/2000 sec ,if someone can print to what they show as on the lcd display i would be grateful, by the way its a nikon d7000, thank you.

Assuming my display is like yours the display will show the lower figure of the fraction, i.e. 1/4000 will be 4000 , 1/2000 will be 2000 .............. 1/60 will be 60, 1/30 will be 30 etc.

Thanks for the quick response, i will check my display, so 1/1600 will show as 60 is that right?

No, 1/60 will show as 60. Just imagine that the 1/ fraction is missing. :)

Interesting question which I have never thought about before. On my camera LCD screen shows shutter speeds as 1/250, 1/500 etc, but in the viewfinder it shows 250 and 500 etc. If the shutter speed is 1 second or longer then both LCD and viewfinder show 2", 5", 15" etc.
