But this is ridiculous.......surely they could have had then fully painted....rant over....have a great day:D
 
Seen similar myself!! council probably only would pay for where the road works were done - or the contractor is only required to repaint where they excavated the road. SOP doing ONLY what you are getting paid for - I for one don't blame them......where councils are concerned they would get only what they paid for from me and NOWT else!!!
 
And the council would be on a cash up front deal too!

Someone should be sacked for that. Just flipping ridiculous to either commission the work like that or in case they didn't to let the contractors get away with it.

It is so wrong at so many levels. Can you name and shame he council?

Kent County Council.........funny thing is that I find KCC as one of the better councils that I have came across.....I even done work for them last week and money didn't seem to be a problem......

I doubt that money is an issue for situations like this. Even if it is used as an excuse that is all it is, an excuse. This to me is just daft and incompetent. They should get JC in, he did this episode to resurface a road overnight ;)
 
You want to be on the other side of things, as a contractor doing reinstatement work the penalties and fines are just stupid, I for one have a little inside knowledge and this is most likely the contractor sticking to the deal. I would do the very same!

The shame is on the council for have such poor markings to start with...........Bet if you got a ticket for being on those faded double lines you would try and contest it.
 
The contractors are damned for doing just what they had to but would be damned even more for causing traffic problems for longer if they had relaid the whole double yellow length!
 
Maybe the other half of the Give Way sign was partially shaded at the time. :D
Also the cycle lane is now for uni-cycles :LOL:
 
They've gone over the lines too. My nephew can do better.
 
its probably a utilities company that did the trench - and they've just agreed to make the bit of the markings they dug up good - theres no reason why they should pay to repaint the whole thing...
