What sort of Warbler is this? I'm not too good on warbling thingamybobs.

It is a Chiffchaff or a Willow Warbler - I would say that it is a Willow Warbler because of the (longer) wing feathers projection, (the primary feathers), but the only way to be very sure is to hear them sing and at this time of year both birds can be found together.

but on second thoughts, it looks like a Chiffchaff ................

I'd go for a Willow Warbler because of the eye stripe which is more prominent in WWs, but the legs look a bit dark for a WW, though this could be due to its location.

Here's a couple of mine

Chifchaff and then Willow Warbler

Although the birds look very different in the 2 images below, they both come in all variations and sizes, - (the WW has "puffed" himself up to make him look round/maybe bigger, but he could equally be the same shape as the CC) and can look very much alike - the WW is a long distance migrant and the CC a short distance one, hence the longer and stronger wings of the WW - even the legs on the WW can be the same colour as those of the CC

The "whiter" underbody and the longer primaries of the WW can clearly be seen in the 2nd image

I think that I took these on the same day/same tree in our garden in France, (when we lived there)
