Yes
Not really but it why does it have to cost sooooo bloody much.

This month decided to spend the pay bonus on some decent lens so have brought:

Sigma 120 - 400mm OS DG
Canon 70 - 200mm F4 L

Then brought the wife a 400d as a present so she can come on the big cat days.

Then upgraded my 400d to a 40d

and have this evening order a 24 - 105L from the main man (Kerso)

But I still want more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ohwell whats money for, spending not giving to the kids

Oh that reminds me, the lad was 8 last week so had a Canon Ixus as a present!!!!

Not that we are all into the hobby or anything.LOL

Flippin ekk!! all the from a pay bonus!! what are you ? an OPEC director!!! lol...

Internal audit manager specialist in Sarbannes Oxley implementation for American owned businesses.

Pays nicely enough but the hours and travel can be a killer. Supposdly based in ROcechester at the last job but spent 38 weeks away from home!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Wow.. how much time do they give you to remember your title?? lol..

i could do with some time away! are the any positions there??

the man who thought up his title is the "administrator for overly long names which confuse people and are to hard to remember" :P

bloody hell, that's a fair amount of glass in such a short period, what were you using on your 400D?

Spoilt it for yourself though, I bet. Too much glass at one time and you don't give yourself enough time to appreciate each lens....

Still, lots of fun all the same....

I bet Ann Robinson would have something to say about it

Why didn't you upgrade to the 40D, and then give your wife your 400D....could have had a few bob extra then towards something else photography releated ;)

Its such an expensive hobby, and its like an addictive drug. You always want more!

The 40d upgrade was an impulse decision made on Friday. Have sold one of the 400d for a nice amount along with a 300mm so havent actually paid a lot for the 40d (works out around £50)

It's called the "black hole syndrome". The more you have the more you want, you just keep spiraling down and down and down.

Next item is going to be a nice bag to keep it all in.

See you at the bottom;)

lol i always look in the shop windows lol. i just saved up and bought myself a lens cleaning pen :D

And you wonder why your hobby costs so much money? It's not the hobby - it's you. If you had a different hobby, it would still be too expensive...

You gotta have it to spend it, especially now credit is a bit harder to come by (and not before time IMO) - enjoy your new acquisitions

So true, photography can be as cheap or as expensive as you want it to be :p

I disagree that it is me.

I had been looking at the 40d but decided to buy a second hand 400d to see if I would enjoy it as much as I used to. So when the 40d came up on Friday at the right price and someone offered me good money for the 400d then I would have been a fool to say no. The upgrade cost me around £50 so not too bad.

As for the lens, well it took about five months of consideration before deciding which ones to go for and with the missus now interested in the hobby as well, the choice was to either buy her some lens or upgrade mine and let her use the others.

As for why dont we both use the same ones, at times we can share but she is intested in wildlife whilst I interested in motorsport so will not be shooting at the same place all of the time.

Jeff

OH OK maybe a little bit of me then.
