Got a phonecall today to say I was successful at my interview last week and I have been offered the job :D They also said that they had contacted my manager for a reference - which should be interesting as I didn't tell my manager I'd applied for another job :shake: ...ho-hum!!

Just got to hand in my notice now - I have to give 8 weeks so it's gonna be a long 8 weeks.

Many thanks for all your good luck wishes..they obviously worked :)

Well done, your present firm might let you take pay in lieu of notice if you're lucky :)

Congrats on the new job, what is it you do?

My present firm (and the new one) is the understaffed NHS, so I doubt it!

Hope your brill news bodes well for everyone else in the same boat !

KUP ?

Actually, notice periods aren't enforcable IF it affects your new job. I.e. if they won't give you the job because you can't start in one week.
