Yes
It's come to that point in my photographic career where I am going to set myself up with a nice little logo given some of the attention that my photos have attracted and given that I'll be launching a website soon.

I have a picture of how I want the logo to look in my mind - it's two knots tied together to form the letters A and E as in "æ". I've seen this tutorial on how to make knots on Illustrator but I've drawn a blank in finding a similar tutorial using Photoshop and, as I'm utterly useless with the pen tool, I need all the tutorials I can get.

I really, really can't afford Illustrator - does anyone know how I can embark on this using Photoshop?

As ever, any help is greatly appreciated.

The pen tool is really worth getting to grips with IMO.

There are some good video tuts on youtube that are worth checking out.

The nost important thing you need to know IMO (if you don't already) is to Alt + click on the anchor points as you create them if you don't want Photoshop to 'pre-guess' the shape.

+1 what Will said, you don't really need Illustrator unless your doing logo's every day, I've done a fair few now just using paths in Photoshop v5.0 and never had any complaints.
And youtube should be quite a good place to start.

I don't know what the tutorial said, but would imagine you would want to use the pen tool to do this. In CS4 the pen toll in photoshop and illustrator and exactly the same. I don't know if this applies to earlier versions.
