Anyone use this ?
Been thinking about using this as I lost all my contacts on my iPhone recently and would not like that to happen again BUT thing that confuses me is where it says iPhone will not auto sync with iTunes when plugged in
So will it still work with iTunes
Confused

Hi Mark.

I think it means you can still use iTunes to manage music, but it will use the cloud to backup all your contacts/data. It will also back up your apps (and their content if you specify) so if your device ever dies/goes for a swim, as mine has, you can just pop in your iCloud username and password, and it will restore itself to exactly as it was at last backup. Backups themselves run when the phone is plugged in and on wifi (ie at night).

Have a look at iTunes Match - it puts all your media in the cloud, for you to stream or download to your iDevices whenever needed. It is £20* a year, but for that you also get high bitrate versions of all the songs you own. iTunes + iCloud has meant that I have not plugged my iDevices into the computer for months!

* Google Music is also a free version of this, and a really great service, but I prefer iTunes Conn for its integration with iTunes on my iDevices.

oops! Thanks R! Spot on. Amended.

I use iCloud. Push notifications for email is good but also it allows my computer, iPad and iPhone to share calendar, contact, web pages, spreadsheets etc etc seamlessly whilst backing them up too. It's free so why not.
