This looks like a fantastic deal for cloud storage. Amazon is now doing unlimited cloud storage for only £55 per year. This is the full service that does not compress photo like their basic deal.
Anyone currently using Amazon drive, is it any good?
Amazon Drive

External hard drive and NAS systems now look very expensive compared to Amazon cloud storage,

As a Prime member, this looks like quite a good offer to use to store a redundant, remote copy of data. I see they support Synology Cloud Sync which would be useful if it worked. For some reason, I find Dropbox behaves great with Cloud Sync, but Google Drive stalls after a while.

I gave up the last time I used it as it was incredibly slow in uploading files.

It works well, I use it all the time. The upload is reasonably fast at about 50GB per day so the initial upload my be a little long but after that it's very good. You can also set it up as a napped folder in windows so you can access data in amazon the same as your c drive. Obviously its a lot slower and not really practical to work from but its a handy feature

I guess the only way to find out is to give the 3-month trial a try.

The £55/year deal is separate to Prime. Prime members get unlimited photo storage including raw files. I use it as a secondary backup and it's pretty good, but I also have the advantage of very fast Internet at my office :)

I get around 19Mbps max upload. Combined with the ability to back-up from my NAS means it can be backing up 24 hours a day. Amazon Cloud Drive doesn't seem to offer any encryption which is a downside compared to some other services, but then I guess it offers multimedia playback functionality.
