I hope this is OK to post in this section, apologies if not.

I wanted to make people aware of a classified post I have just put up regarding my extremely rare 99 year old Kodak No.3A Junior camera. It is rare because it is converted to take 120 film so it is usable.

If anyone knows about vintage cameras they will know the old folding Kodaks used much larger film that was discontinued years ago. I converted one, but due to a change in circumstances I am offering it for sale. It takes lush 1920s looking images, which are a major change from digital and even modern film cameras.

I am only offering it to talkphotography members at the moment. so take a look in the film classified section.

Rare cos it's converted and usable??:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: You're avin' a laugh aren't you?

Take the conversion out, sell it to me for a tenner and I'll put it to good use by adapting a 120 film spool and a 120 take up spool with a couple of plastic rawlplugs.

It takes nothing but a few pence and a several minutes to adapt any of these obsolete film cameras.......I've been doing it for years!

I had a feeling this was going to hurt.

To be fair, I'm sure the OP was unaware of the reality.

The reality of what??......Trying to kid folk that this is something extraordinary and demands a 75 quid price tag.....Yeah OK

The likelihood is that the adaptation I mentioned in my previous post is widely known and the info available on the internet so to be "unaware" that these sort of cameras have never been adapted before is somewhat naïve imo

Crikey Ash. Has the Mistral got up or summat?

I was upholding the generosity of spirit which is all pervasive in this neck of the woods.

;)

Fair enough mate but I still stand by my original statement that the OP is avin' a laugh

This reminds me of the newly popular pass time of checking actual sales against the ridiculous "Buy Now" prices on eBay. One person asks £500 for a ratty old Retina (made up example) because they claim it's "rare" and so the rest do the same. When you check the sold items list, you find it's not got many sales at anything like that price. :thinking:
