Can you believe they made such a mistake?? still I squeezed £25 in compensation from them.
So I did say when I am 6 ft under I will ring them and let them know

Might be worth obscuring your personal details from the image, and my sincere condolences lol.

Bazza, can you do me a favour? While you're over there, can you find my dad and ask him where all the money is? I'm sure there was meant to be more!

I suggest you return the £25 and tell Npower that, on reflection, you accept their view and you are dead.

You will then not be liable for Council Tax, National Insurance contributions, any form of tax.

Presumably you will be able to go to shops and not pay - how can a dead person be said to have bought anything.

Dave

I'm very pleased you're still with us, but, just out of interest, what made them think you weren't?

Thank staff/mods for removing the personal details

All I can do is give a typical ghost answer BOOOOOOOOOOOOOO

quick someone start an RIP thread

Did you see the light?
... and then someone flicked the switch and turned it off.

Any idea why they thought you had gone?

No Kendo no idea, but in the spirit of the letter I gave a ghostly reply. Anyway I am now a Phantom poster it seems

You should consider yourself fortunate. A chap I knew died and some fool at British Gas sent out a similar letter addressed to The Executioners of the late Mr. Robert Price.

In actual fact I don't know if they can actually claim off a dead person or the estate left. The contract would have been between the utility company and the deceased only. If a person dies then that contract ceases, there can be no blame on a person dying. That is unless there is some hidden clause in the contract. It would be interesting in court, on one side a utility company barrister and on the other side a corpse. Of course it would be a rather one sided affair and if the judge waited for a response from the corpse before giving judgement etc etc.

Sorry my mind does head off in funny directions at times

my bank did that to me in 2003 when I tried to change my address, they didn't think it odd that my work were still paying my wages and they carried on paying all the DDs and allowed me to withdraw money!

Talk Talk tried to take my dead husband to court over an unpaid bill for an email account about which I had no knowledge and of course I couldn't cancel the account as I had no knowledge of any details of it. But it took well over 6 months to settle that.,
