Hello there everyone,
Really new here and to Digital SLR Photography in General. I was on holiday a couple of weeks back and decided to take my regular Point and Shoot photography to the next level by buying a Digital SLR so I am just starting out.
I am a 25 year old male based in Coventry, West Midlands which is in the United Kingdom. I have always been into photography but it was mainly for fun and for personal pictures. I used to own a Canon Powershot A470 which to be honest was a great little compact camera I loved it.
I have always wanted to get a Digital SLR and now that I have one I am truly amazed by them and want to learn a lot more. I wouldn't say I have a "style" in what I shoot, but I suppose that will come with experience I tend to just always snap what I think looks interesting at the time.
I have been using Photoshop since version 7 was released those many years ago and am a keen Web Developer / Designer who rides a motorbike living on my own with 2 cats and their 5 week old kittens.
I also have a beautiful partner called Heather whom I has been the subject of my new found love of Digital SLR Photography.
My kit is:
Nikon D3100 with the standard kit lens (Nikon DX AF-S Nikkor 18-55mm 1:3.5-5.6 VR) but am looking to buy the next one up (The 55-300mm lens) and Pty 16GB Class 10 SD Card
Self Built Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66GHz Machine with 6GB Ram, ATI Radeon HD3870 graphics card, loaded with Nikon ViewNX and Adobe Creative Suite 6 and terabytes to spare for my photography archives.
I love shooting Macro, Landscapes and kittens and am shooting in Manual to unleash my potential in creativity also constantly using websites like photo.tutsplus.com to learn more which has been very helpful.

As I am new, could you guys tell me what sort of kit to buy in the future as I want to start photographing potential models and will be looking for voluntary clients too. What would be useful to have? Addons, accessories, lenses all that kind of fun stuff.
