Hello, after a bit of advice, please. Next Saturday I am going to be one of the official photographers at the Golden Button (http://www.golden-button.co.uk). I have done steeplechases before, but this is a different kettle of fish with 50 runners over natural obstacles. I am on fence 2 so the field will be together, and it is a hedge at the top of a hill so they will be jumping into space and up against the sky from my position. Due the that I was planning to shoot in manual metering off the grass, using something like 1/500 (is this fast enough, or could I get away with a bit less?), f/8 so I can get a good proportion of the field in focus and set the ISO to suit. I will probably use my 24-105 so I can get lots of the field in shot but zoom in on fallers (I will also have my 70-200 in case I have misjudged that when I get into position, plus my 100-400 and 500 f4 as I am also photographing some later jumps in the distance) and will be using a 7D2.

Does that sound roughly right or have I completely overlooked something? There is only one race so I need to nail this first time.

Very many thanks in advance.
