Hugin - Panorama photo stitcher

I know quite a few people here use it. Has anyone updated to the 2009.4.0 released December 2009 version? I can't get it to work at all. Says it can't find file 'autopano-sift-C'. Am I missing something? I'm using Windows 7.

Anyone else having/had problems? :bang:

I've been having the same problems with windows 7 whereas it worked fine with windows vista. I've resulted to using CleVR photostitching software, it's not as good but it's tiding me over until it's fixed.

Well I just reverted to the older version and it now works fine again. If it anit broke ... don't fix it eh. I think to get the newer version to work you have to manually install 'autopano-sift-C' due to legal technicalities? Sounded too complicated for the likes of me.

As somebody who uses photoshop for my panos I have to ask is Hugin much better? I don't have any problems with panos in ps, what does hugin do better?

Guess the only answer is to give it a go. I've never really bothered with PP as i've always understood it to be universally a ball-ache in comparison to dedicated software. Seen this on a few forums now.
