Downton is filmed at highclere castle in Berkshire, just outside Newbury or you could go to Basildon park (just off the m4 between Reading and Newbury,where they film the scenes for the the London residence......

I got married in Downton. It's a small village just South of Salisbury.
It wasn't in an Abbey though, it doesn't have one.
Which is a shame, it does have a river and water meadows, so that might have helped with this fire.
However, I am happily divorced now. But marriage was very traumatic.
