Huawei M5 can't get USB-C CF card reader to work

I've used a USB-C compact flash card reader for a while with my Samsung S8 to download photos and edit on Lightroom Mobile.

I've recently bought a Huawei M5 media pad to do the same thing. However the card doesn't show up on the Huawei. If I go to the USB options there are options to import photos/files as a default, but if I select this it quickly then reverts back to the reverse charge option.

Does anyone know why I'm having issues with the Huawei, and if there's a way around it?

Thanks for the help. The ones on your link though aren't compact flash readers.

There's one on Amazon with lists the Huawei M5 in its comparability, but the design is very very similar to the one I already have so not sure it would be any different.

Ooops my bad!

I had another Google with Compact Flash in the search..... actually I thought my original search had it

This one comes up though CF not stated but there is one slot that looks about the size of a CF slot.....

Though it does have a 'normal' larger usb socket.....so would it take a daisy chained CF reader and work?
