I see there is an update for LR5.

When I click on download, it takes me to the Adobe Lightroom 'homepage'. Do I have to sign in to my account before I can download it?

When I signed in to my account, it asked me to verify it, but as I don't have the email address I signed up with I had to contact Support. What a farce that was!!!

Best just to go to the download content for it. Search LR5.7.1 download and you should find it

If this is the latest HDR and panoramic update I think you can only get it if you subscribe to the cloud.

had the same issue, thought it was an update to LR6. clicked the download, took me to the page logged in, downloaded and now it wants a serial number. read that i could use my lr5 serial, put that in and no joy.
whats the point of it listing a download / update when in fact its an entirely new version you have to pay for?
my existing version is 5.7 ( dont know if 5.7.1 is the same )

ahh i assumed it was a free update as in the past updates that pop up when you open LR have been free and normally just download install and your go to go, but this one instead just takes me to the adobe page. even though i downloaded and installed it , it installs as a seperate entity and says its 30 day trial and wnats cd key, so its a bit off of adobe to call it a LR5 update when its really a new version upgrade rather than just a simple update.

They (Adobe) obviously have the commercial impetus of trying to drift us into the cloud, and some of us are bound to resist. Maybe fine if you're in the flush of your prime with a stable or climbing income (irrespective of whether you're amateur or pro, or some hybrid of the two), but what if they radically up the subscription overnight?

Never count your chicks before they're hatched.

Yes - It's an "update" to LR 6 rather than an incremental update to LR 5.
If you're using LR 5.7 then that's as far as LR 5 will go.

yeah which is bloody annoy annoying that when you open lr a pop up comes up telling you theres an update when its not, and in fact its a new version you have to pay for. thankfully theres the ignore this update button , but its still annoying that adobe have done it this way.
guess i'll stick with lr 5.7.1 as im not paying out again .

Just bought a Panasonic TZ70 camera - NEED the move to LR6 otherwise raw files not recognised by LR! Pah.

Great. Think I'll ignore it then. Didn't know you have to pay for it.

After contacting Support, they still haven't changed my login email address. Not happy. Just sent a tweet out to them complaining.

Surely there must be some way of getting round this without needing to upgrade to LR6?

There is - I can use bridge via PS6 but then I have to convert to DNG. Easier to buy LR6 with direct import with no conversion needed (and I needed an excuse!)
