Hey all

not sure where this would go, but here goes

Is there a software avalible that lets you test your SDHC cards ? i hear a lot of fakes about and just want to make sure the 2 i just bought are the real deal

Cheers

Plus some companies do verifications. I did a serial number check on my Transcend CF card the other day. Google it perhaps.

Sandisk will also verify the serial number on their cards and tell you if it's genuine or not.

Just tested my two cards.

Sandisk Extreme HD SDHC 16GB Class 10 45Mbs UHS-1

Writing/Reading speed @ 20/22mbs.

Sandisk Extreme HD SDHC 16GB Class 10 30Mbs

Writing/Reading speed @ 17/22.0 Mbs

How bad is that? :(

just realised, i cant do a proper test becuase USB 2 is only 30 Mb/s ? and I don't have USB 3 yet :(

Any fake cards I've tested have been really, really slow rather than just a bit slower and they've failed at a very small capacity of around 1-2GB. I don't know if newer fakes are any better.

It all depends on how fast your reader can process the information, I use ATTO disk Benchmark software and I get different results depending on wether I use the internal or external card reader (best results using the Lexar external in a USB3 port)
