it does take some patience and a good deal of practice, but is really great fun.
And the plus is that you also get as a by product plenty of really good photos, as you can choose the perfect one out of 300
Do you have any thoughts as to the best free software to compile the stills? Whilst many people may have the Photography plan from Adobe, there are probably less folks with access to AE.

Hi Ian,
there is a free version of Davinci resolve, a software with good reputation.
The free version doesn't do 4k.
I am not familiar with it, but I have noticed several tutorials on YT about Davinci for timelapses.
