Hi guys,

Just had something happen to me that is new when it comes to saving my work using photoshop CS5.

I use my laptop with windows & I also use my Mac for editing/saving work.

I have noticed recently that my laptop saves images in a 'FILE' format rather than the requested JPEG format.
I did a little research and it told me that my computer doesn't know what to save the files as so it gives it the 'FILE' format.

How can I stop this from happening in the future as all was great until recently?

One thing I did also read is that if you rename the images with .jpeg at the end, it actually makes the files appear and you can open and use them.
This is good but I can't imagine how long things would take if I had to keep on renaming thousands of files.

Please help
Thanks

The dng converter will solve this FILE issue yes?

How would I have lost this in the first place? Kind of irrelevant but good to know if it happens again I guess.

Thank you for replying
