Having just read the post about how much memory Photoshop uses and general apps running in the background, I though I would post the command to remove 'MSN' from a windows XP based PC.

Click,

Start/run and copy this into the box,

RunDll32 advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\inf\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove

Then click OK.

This will uninstall MSN messenger from your PC.

It might work with Vista but I haven't tried it!

You can also search for "XP Antispy". Handly little free program that kicks out MSN and more.

thanks for this. I'll try it on vista tomorrow

Why would you want to remove msn?? if your not using it then its not running surley??

It runs in the background all the time.

Run MSCONFIG and stop it from loading, that would work surely?

Thats one way yeah.
I prefer the good old regedit way of stopping things loading. I'm too fickle to trust MSConfig :p

If I remember correctly it re installs with a windows update.

msconfig doesn't uninstall it, it just stops it from auto loading on windows start up.
