How to print 2000+ photos?

A little unusual I know, but here goes.

I've finally catalogued my digital family photos going back a decade or more.

They total over 2000 photos! I have a photo frame which will be able to display some, but I want to print them aswell. I'm thinking of a photobook(s).

The size of the files varies from 300kb jpegs to 20MB NEFS. I can export all of them from Lightroom as standard size jpegs, and I'm only looking for "contact" size prints - the memories they evoke will more than make up for their lack of size.

The question is, how can I do this automatically as far as possible. They just need to be printed in chronological order and I dont want to spend a lot of time formatting etc. I have downloaded a trial version of OneSoftware PhotoFrame, but I'm not sure that will work. If they could be shown in print in a random way (perhaps with Polaroid or other frames) all the better.

Also, can anyone recommend a reasonable priced photo book printing company.

Thanks in advance.

Well, if it were 6x4s, I would have suggested just walk into Jessops with them on a USB pendrive.
Wife did around 800 that way in one go, not too much hassle

From memory, I think Blurb lets you select a template, a book style and just point at a folder and it will import them all for you.

You may have to design you own layout.

Not tried with that many photos though. - Could be expensive

I did think of that, but then I have the storage issue. Thanks for the tip.

Thanks - I'll have a look at that - blurb seems well recommended on here.

Hi I used Blurb to make a wedding album and was very pleased with the result
the quality of print is very good you can choose the format of the book and adjust the layout yourself then just upload and they print it for you.
Regards
Carl :)

Get Breezebrowser www.breezesys.co.uk

You can use this to sort your images into the correct order - then use the "print to file" option when printing contacts - and you can specify the nmber of images per page - orientation and what text appears underneath

Do something like 9 images on a 6x9.

Thanks for all the replies. Easiest way was to download Blurb books software and use their "autoflow" option which added the photos into whichever template I chose.

Prices not bad either.
