Hi everyone, I decided I would like to try to and sell some prints and was after some advice on mounting (matting), best ways to do it? equipment etc. Also silly question but how do I go about putting a border around print so that I have something to work with under the mount, without changing the size of the actual photo??

Any info would be much appreciated.

Thanks.

If you increase the canvas size this will give you the border required

You probably need to think about mount sizes that fit most standard frames, unless you are offering framed prints. You can either go with 'standard' mount apertures and buy these ready cut (but it limits you to 6x4 of 7x5 etc prints. Or get the mount board and cut your own specifically for each photo.

As for prints, either as above, or what I do is send to Digilabpro and request 'border' which gives me a small white border sufficient to fit into the aperture with a bit of margin. But I cut my own mounts. If you print your own, you can print your 7x5 onto A4 and have plenty of margin on the page.
