How to make your avater not noisy

As you using the "save for web" option in Photoshop, someone correct me if I am wrong here, but that option strips things like exif data and so on out the image to reduce it's size. Try it with the same image and see the file size difference.
 
I use save for web? Just knock it up to 80% or above.
