tried editing this one but not with a lot of luck i could not work out how to select the strut's an not the hole lot.

also how do you think i should do these photo. by that i mean does it looked better with a crisp white background or as the first one left with background that's on there

cheer's
hope you can help and you can understand my grammer and spelling:shake:

I just tried using the dodge tool, set to highlights and about 4-5%, and brush over the background. It gets a bit fiddly by the white parts of the items, but it works.

I'd have think the photography in the first place should be done right?

so how would you go about doing this shoot right in the first place?
as it was my first time doing anything with a white background it was hard to get the back white, not musky white. to be honest id much prefer to get it right the first time.

To avoid any shadows you really need two light sources of the same intensity placed at 45% each side of the light tent or one that is exactly full on and not slighlty to one side as these were took.

As to the pure white simply open the levels dialogue box and use the white eydropper to set the background to white.

The imaged you posted can be rescued simply by selecting the background plus shadows ( i used a mixture of magic wand and a layer mask) then going to edit > fill and select white as was done here, with a full res image you should be able to do better than I have here.:)

Hi

Another way is to create a new level, increase the brightness of the top layer to give a white background and then using the eraser bring the objects back from the lower level.

To shoot it correctly in the first place get a piece of white perspex, use this as the background and shoot a light through it. Alternatively if you have a softbox use this as the background and balance the light to give a white background without blowing out the subject
