How to have a good fathers day

1. Have 7 kids... I love fathers day haha

2. stay off social media.. fathers day used to be a joyous occasion.. a celebration.. Now its an exzcuse for the misery brigade to tell the world how they dont have a father anymore.. or mums moaning about missing fathers or just any excuse to moan and spoil your day

Happy Fathers day to all the fathers :)

I'm sure they're very sorry for ruining your day by be being "the misery brigade" as they are reminded of the loss of loved ones.

 Because that is especially when we miss them!!!!!

From the WAMT thread

WAMT?

The thread about "how to have a good Fathers day"

Still very raw from the loss of my much loved Dad 2 years ago.

Edit to add your (unnecessary) edit.

My status as a staff member is irrelevant, you are just using it to play the victim.

Because that's when it becomes more poignant. You may be celebrating but it's a time of year when others are being constantly reminded of an absent parent. Calling them the misery brigade is extremely disrespectful.

It's not nice calling them the misery brigade because they miss their fathers.

They'll (not the misery brigade) be wanting to ban it next, because it's sexist.

Must admit, I had no idea that it was Father's Day until I got an sms from my son - both my kids live in SA, so no plan to get together or anything - this morning.

Ridiculous and pointless thread Kipax.

So, you had a great day with all of your 7 kids and surrounding family and they showed their appreciation, and why not, i'm sure you are a wonderful dad in their eyes.

Then you go and p**s on others sadness at the loss of their fathers. My dad passed away last September. I did a 180 mile round trip yesterday to a memorial garden to spend a little time where my dad's ashes were scattered. Was i sad - yup, a little, as i'd love to have spent the day with him in a pub supping pints and talking about the good old days

You could easily have started a thread tell all about how wonderful it was to spend time with your children, and just left it there

Couldn't agree more.

I lost my dad a couple of years ago. Days like Fathers Day, his birthday and the anniversary of his death are particularly difficult.

I know you probably did this to just draw some attention to yourself like many people appear to do - but this is lower than low. I think you've got a disgusting attitude - and would be very happy to tell you this face to face. If this is how you feel, perhaps tell your 7 kids this rather than sharing it with people that MIGHT not want to hear a miserable statement.

I doubt it would hurt for you to be thankful that you're a good (I hope) father and perhaps share that news instead, and count your blessings !

My recipe for a great father's day is normally ... keep as far away from the kids as you can!

Then my son goes and spoils it by coming over and giving me a hair cut. God I love him :)
