How to handle two camera/lens combos pitchside

Slight thread hijack, but I've just got a Peli 1560, and I'm surprised at how flexible and flimsy the pull out handle seems to be.

Anyone broken one?

Lifetime guarantee from Peli so you'll be okay if you did break it.

Peli 1510 with organiser or Tamrac expo7 (Ta Gary:thumbs:) which depends on footy ground, (bloody stairs!), + a shakespeare (fishing) seat/bag combie that houses all my waterproofs & lens/camera covers etc! also a Seaport pro shoulder bag for all Laptop/electical stuff. Yes it weighs a bit but I'm getting stronger & I'm totally covered!! erm I hope .

And to answer Nigels original thread!, I balance the Tele over my L shoulder while bringing the zoom up from around my neck, so to reverse, just let the zoom down & use the shoulder to flick the tele back up to position (takes practise but I find it works for me). Also with the zoom round your neck it's available while viewing/transmitting images if goal mouth action creeps up on you!,
(most/all printed action outside the Premier is "goal cele/shot for goal action" which unless your prepared is very missable by the time you've secured the long Tom!!). Kind regards Graham.

Kind regards Graham.

My technique is not to have a 400m, just take a good old trusty siggy 70-200 and miss out on anything too far away and twiddle my thumbs :D

That's what I have to do in the 2nd half when the natural light goes. The floodlights are that bad I can only use the 1Dx and the 70-200 f2.8 to get a decent shot. Even then I have to shoot at ISO 51200 to get 1/1000 shutter speed

The 7D stands no chance, so gets put way with the 400 f2.8 for the second half.

At least I dont have to bob between two cameras though :D

I have however been practicing the Gary Coyle method in the privacy of my own home

Dragging this old thread up :D

Picking the 400mm up tomorrow and have ordered a Giottos MML3290B 5-Section Monopod as mine current one is okay for the new 300, but the 400 weighs heck of a lot more.

So I'll practice the Coyle method in due course

Yes it will forever be known as the Coyle method..

I'm waiting for a question on it, to come up on The Chase..
