I have around 400 photos that each could do with a unique number & then made into contact sheets (screen viewing only) & wondered if there was any way to do this?

I have LR5, PE10 & still CS6 30 day trial.

Any help would be appreciated :help:

Lightroom can do all that for you as In recall? I renumber when I export a wedding set from LR5 so there are no gaps for Brides to ask for the "missing" photos.

Ooops I didn't really make myself clear :bonk:

I meant the number to show on the photo like a watermark would in the corner

Photo Mechanic can do this.

It could use something very unique like the images' camera generated frame number, or simply a sequential number/code of your choice, and 'watermark' it onto the photos in the size, position and opacity of your choice.

However, PM is not cheap and very likely a sledgehammer to crack a nut in this case. But if this is a one time operation you could download and use a demo version.

Otherwise, wait for some clever soul to offer an alternative solution.

Cheers,
Tony

Thanks Jim & Tony  & I will take a look at the demo version of PM

Lightroom can easily do this if you're happy with a number below the image. You can also add a (static text) watermark on top of the picture.

It's in the print module.

Jonathon - you're a star as this will solve my problem perfectly - thanks so much for your help

I was trying to read the LR Pdf but perhaps I was being dense as I never sussed it.

Yep, LR will do very nicely.
I meant the number to show on the photo like a watermark would in the corner

I would've suggested LR but I misunderstood and thought you wanted the numbers actually on the image area as a watermark, not as simple annotation.

Glad you're sorted, as I wasn't relishing the prospect of explaining how to actually achieve a sequential watermarked code using PM (it's not a design goal of the software and hence a little tricky to suss out on first look of the app). ;)

All the very best.

Cheers,
Tony

Hi Tony & thank you - my fault for dithering not quite knowing what I wanted when I originally posted - cheers :ty:
